Wow, what an election. I’m glad it ends with a clean finish. Trump has won, Harris has conceded the race. So ends this blog of the race, started 10.5 months ago. I left out some stuff and towards the end, it was so crazy, but so typical, so I didn’t capture everything. But as predicted, it was historic and Trump is not only the second person to run for president and win after having been turned out of office.

Final weekend before the election ands, and possibly the fight for the top spot begins. .
Things Worth Remembering: Whoever Loses, They Should Lose Like Nixon – The Free Press is out with ths story because they, like so many others, think that Tuesday will not settle the issue. Who would have thought the Nixon would emerge as the candidate to emulate. But, there he is. There will be no takers for this seat in history. And frankly, McCain and Romney have used up the available slots for affable losers. For the democrats, they’ve gone full Hitler on Trump, so one can hardly see them giving up easy; they said that democracy was literally on the line. Trump doesn’t take defeat easy either. So, my bet is that we don’t know who takes office next on Tuesday unless it is a huge Trump landslide. Which, it won’t be.

Yes, crazy things could happen between now and election day, but as of now, the polls are breaking Trump’s way, but it its close there will be litigation. There is no assurance we will know on November 5 who won.

And so it begins. The Iowa vote is final, and Trump won big with 51% of the total. It was actually bigger than that because Vivek Ramaswamy dropped out and threw his 8% to Trump. On the Democrat side, there are no results because the only way to vote was via mail in ballot and the results won’t be revealed until march. Yup, you read that right. The democrats could not vote in person.

As of today, the news is focused on the efforts of Mane and Colorado to keep former President Donald Trump from appearing on the ballot in those states. The first votes in the election cycle are on January 15, just two weeks away. Surely, the Supreme Court will weigh in on the actions of Maine and Colorado, and smack them down. One would hope these rulings would be 9-0, which has happened before. The great Civil Rights cases from the 1950s and 1960s were decided on a 9-0 basis because all the justices agreed the issues were important. Will the ideologues on the leftist part of the court allow states to bar Trump because the hate him? If we open this door, we open the possibility of 50 different ballots and multiple outcomes to an election. The peaceful transfer of power, an American tradition that goes back to the founding, would be lost. It is shocking that people in powerful positions have put us here, but they have. As Mark Steyn says, the left is serious about power and they will break any barrier they can to achieve it.
